If you want to be successful, you simply cannot afford to have poorly designed work, inconsistent, little or no identity and unclearly communicated to your prospect. Each project is handled by me until completed. I carefully design each look from what I am provided, by the use of jpg, bmp pictures, black and white floorplans and details provided by you the customer. 95% of current floorplans displayed on the web are black and white.
There are actually three perspectives that will have an effect on the success of converting regular 2D floor plans to 3D…
1. The “Conversion” Perspective (the designer)
* 2D floor plans do not show cabinetry, or overhead fixtures other than a ceiling fan due to the nature of the basic “flat” concept.
* Lighting on 3D plans is only used to “enhance” the image, if not you couldn’t see that “3D” concept; not necessarily to show placement of actual electrical fixtures.
* Benefit: It’s a marketing advantage over your competition that makes your “product” (the unit) look more inviting, more appealing, more “real” and gives the perspective resident a “feel” of how their new home may look and the placement of their furniture.
* Any floor plan, whether 2D or 3D, is only an “artist’s rendition” of the square footage and basic layout of the “average unit” for a certain floor plan.
i.e. if you have 32 units of 2 X 2’s….the printed floor plan is only an “average” sample of what that particular square footage looks like. NOT a real photograph.
Effective branding
* Is one of the most essential steps your business can take towards establishing a consistent and successful communication strategy! Hence, your identity and effective branding stands as the cornerstone of your business. It differentiates you from your competitors and creates a lasting impression in the minds of your customers. Having 3D floorplans sets you out above the others. Customers can get a real feel of what your units look like.
The “Consumer” Perspective (the prospect)
* They are looking forinformation that helps them to get a “better understanding” of what their new home looks like as well as fulfilling their personal wants and needs. I have personally shown the 3D look to get feedback, and have found numerous people who love the idea of seeing a color rendition of what they can look forward to, and will stay on your site up to 7 minutes as compared to less than 1 minute for plain renditions.
Reponses where: “Why doesn’t everyone do this?”, “I like this idea, it’s easy to understand”, “I wish I had something like this at my property”, “We need this for us, were using copies”.
Strive to communicate, and to impress
* If you have a good idea and you communicate that idea clearly and effectively, the recipients will be impressed. This sounds like a trivial matter, but it elicits positive reactions from prospects.
* Other elements greatly enhance the visual appeal of your 3D document and make it easier for many people to read and comprehend W/D’s, Fireplaces, and Decks.
